Beeswax wrap recipe. Preheat the oven to 225F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. It is more accurate by weight so we are providing both options. To use a beeswax wrap use the warmth of your hands to shape around the item forming a seal.
A wrap becomes sticky when warmed in the hands which makes it easy to fold and seal around food or a bowl. Using larger pieces of fabric will give you wraps for party platters or other large bowls. Once the cloth has cooled it is ready to use.
Beeswax wraps are easy to wash. Blot with a dry dish towel and lay flat to dry. For this variation combine 14 cup beeswax pastilles 2 tablespoons of pine resin and 1 tablespoon of organic jojoba oil in a double-boiler on the stovetop.
Pour 2 tablespoons of jojoba oil in a mason jar or measuring cup. It should only take a couple of minutes. These DIY reusable beeswax wraps have a few key ingredients that are melted into cotton fabric.
Wraps can be washed in cool soapy water and reused. Making the mixture that is spread on your wraps is simple. Place them on a drying rack or clothesline to dry.
As they cant be washed in hot water dont use them to cover raw meat. Add water to saucepan until the mixture inside the double boiler or measuring cup is below waterline. Place your fabric face-down onto the bakingpaper.
